I started dabbling in political cartooning out of a desire to encapsulate political arguments in images that could be shared for immediate impact, rather than writing up an essay for each antagonist on, for example, why it’s bad for police to attack protestors.
I joined the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) in 2019 after writing on the death, dearth, and demographics of political cartooning, and served on its board of directors for a year. The mission of the AAEC is to “champion and defend editorial cartooning and free speech as essential to liberty in the United States and throughout the world.”
Published cartoons:

“Stop Protesting Police Brutality” was published on Politico on 6/12/20.

Published in the Kansas City Star, after police in Overland Park, Kansas, arrested a 13-year-old girl in 2019 on felony charges of “violent threats” for making finger gun gestures in school.

Published in the Wichita Eagle after Kansas senator Susan Wagle attempted to block Medicaid expansion in Kansas as retribution for the failure of a proposed anti-abortion amendment to the state constitution.
